Joseph A. Franklin, MD, FACS

My career began at a busy Level 1 Trauma Center with diverse clinical responsibilities. I served as the Medical Director of the Craniofacial Clinic at Vidant Medical Center, taught medical students and other healthcare professionals as an adjunct clinical professor in the Brody School of Medicine at ECU, and cared for an array of patients – both in the academic arena and within my own private office setting.

Ultimately, after eight years, I decided to relocate my practice to the Triangle to be closer to family members and friends. Today, I feel very fortunate to call Raleigh home.

As a NC native, I know that hospitality is one of our state’s greatest attributes. We offer this -to you – and understand the importance of competent and compassionate medical care delivered in a reassuring and inviting atmosphere. Our unique clinic setting allows for the perfect intersection of these ideals. The relaxation room in the office, complete with a fireplace, is just one example of how we are trying to accomplish these goals.

In addition to the busy clinical practice, my team understands the responsibility of community involvement. I actively support the arts, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Operation Oligo Cure, and serve as a Board Member of The Pretty in Pink Foundation – an organization dedicated to help women pay for breast cancer treatment. As the old paradigm decrees, “To whom much is given, much is expected.”

We are conveniently located in Durham, across from the Streets at Southpoint. In addition to the clinic space, I have multiple hospital affiliations – with full surgical privileges – including Duke Raleigh and UNC Rex Healthcare. We are here to provide for all of your plastic surgery needs, and welcome the opportunity to take great care of you.

Choosing the right surgeon is tremendously important. We look forward to seeing you soon.
